This week-long training is designed to provide you with a turbo shot of inspiration for your personal practice, your teaching, and your life! This program is capped at 10 people and will be held at a luxurious oceanfront retreat on Deer Isle.
I could not ask for a better backdrop for the soul-stirring week that we will be spending together than the raw and wild beauty of coastal Maine. Treat your lungs to some of the freshest air you can imagine. You'll breathe in smells that you'll wish you could bottle up to bring home with you! Twice daily yoga practices will take place in the great room with hardwood floors and radiant heat and a wall of windows overlooking Penobscot Bay. These trainings are rooted in the vinyasa methodology but will include hatha, MFR, yin, pranayama and meditation practices as well. Between classes, we'll spend plenty of time outdoors hiking through mossy woods, climbing up to granite overlooks, and along narrow paths that lead to secluded beaches. Afternoons will include lively philosophy discussions inspired by some of yoga's most beloved and time-honored texts. Evenings are sure to be filled with laughter and games.
These retreats will be fully catered by Margie Litman whose quiet delicacy, passion for her craft, and enormous creativity are sure to feed not only your bellies but your hearts and minds as well. And of course my wonderful partner Kerry will bring lobster and other fresh seafood off the boat for those of you who like!
There is a great difference between a yoga instructor and a true teacher. If your vision and hard work serve as the keyhole, I believe it is ultimately self-trust that opens the lock, transforming you from the former into the latter. This week-long program was created to nurture both vision and self-trust. I'll provide you with an endless number of techniques and tools that you can put into instant application in your own personal practice, in your group classes, and in your private sessions with clients. You will be able to take what you learn during these weeks and immediately translate it into workshop format or into specialized offerings that will bring enormous added value to the experience of your retreat guests.
For those of you enrolled in a 300-hour Teacher Training with me, each of these week-long programs may count as 45 hours towards your certification. Each participant will be awarded a certificate upon completion of the program stating that you have completed 45 contact hours with me. This certificate can be submitted to Yoga Alliance to satisfy the continuing education requirement for teachers of 30 hours per 3-year cycle. Please note that these trainings do NOT including teaching practicum hours.
If you are not a yoga teacher, but are a devoted and curious student with a minimum 2 years of consistent practice experience, you may apply to attend these trainings.
